Türkiye plans to create an economy with a zero level of carbon emissions for 30 years. This was stated by the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the country Alparslan Bayractar.
“This is a more complicated goal than others, since it will have a real impact on the entire economy. The” carbon goal “set by us is a region that transforms energy from scratch,” Bayractar said to the 6th Turkish -German Energy forum in Berlin.
The event was attended by the Minister of Economics and Combating Climate Climate Robert Habek.
According to Bayractar, Türkiye intends to invest in renewable energy sources $ 100 billion by 2035
The head of the department called on German investors to partnership in the process of “energy transition” of Turkey. He noted that the country has developed a roadmap to expand the capacities of wind and solar energy from the current 31 thousand megavatts to 120 thousand megavatts by 2035.
Bayractar drew attention to the role of atomic energy in the process of decarbonization. The minister said that Türkiye intends to expand the atomic energy capacity by 2050. The head of the department indicated that the commissioning of Akku NPP will satisfy 10% of the country’s needs in electricity.
