The implementation of the project for the construction of the logistics port of Iizer in the North-Eastern Turkish Province of Rize will be an important step towards Turkey to achieve the goal of becoming a global logistics base.
This was said by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey Abdulkadir Uralogl in the course of familiarization with the progress of construction work.
The head of the department said that the port is planned to be commissioned in 2025.
According to him, the length of the main pier of the harbor will be 2700 meters.
The annual cargo turnover of the logistics port will reach 13 million tons, the minister said.
In addition, according to Uralogl, the port will become the transshipment center of the transport chain between the countries of the Caucasian region and the Middle East.
The minister expressed confidence that Iyider will make an important contribution to an increase in Turkey’s share in naval trade.
