Winged mini-racket Bayraktar Kemankeş Development of the Turkish company Baykar is presented at the world’s largest festival of aviation and space technology Teknofest in Istanbul.
The popular Teknofest festival on April 27 opened its doors for fans of science and technology on the territory of the Ataturk Airport.
The event has been held on an annual basis since 2018 by joint efforts of the T3 Foundation and the Ministry of Industry and Technologies of Turkey. Companies and organizations contributing to the technological development of the country are actively supported by the undertaking.
In an interview with Anadolu, the head of the design team Baykar Burakar Ozbek said that Bayraktar Kemankeş Mini-Buying missiles were developed to increase the shock capabilities of the Bayraktar TB2 drone.
According to him, a mini-racket can be integrated not only in Bayraktar TB2, but also other shock UAVs.
Ozbek noted that work on the creation of a cruise missile has been underway since 2022, and at this stage tests are underway, as a result of which it is planned to launch serial production this year.
The head of the design team explained that the first rocket firing is planned to be carried out within 1-2 months after Teknofest, and then the engine tests will begin.
“The total weight of Kemankeş is 35 kg, the weight of the warhead is 6 kg. The mini -racket is equipped with a reactive engine. The range of target damage to date is 50 kilometers, and in the future it will reach 100 km,” said Ozbek.
According to him, a mini-racket can be in the air for about an hour.
Bayraktar TB2 is already capable of overcoming significant distances, and thanks to Kemankeş we are talking about very serious ranges up to 400 km, Ozbek added.
