The volume of Turkish foreign trade in the national currency in the first quarter of 2023 increased by 141.6 percent compared to the same period of 2022 – up to 163 billion 491 million Turkish lire. Such data leads on Thursday “Anadol” with reference to the data of the Ministry of Trade of Turkey.
According to the Ministry of Trade, despite the negative consequences of earthquakes with epicenters in Kakhramanmarash, the total volume of Turkish exports in March of this year increased by 4.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year – up to $ 23.6 billion.
It is worth noting that in the period under review, Turkish exports reached a historical maximum.
Meanwhile, the volume of Turkish imports in March grew by 4.2 percent – to 32.2 billion dollars.
The volume of exports in January -March 2023 increased by 2.5 percent – to $ 61.6 billion, and imports – by 11.4 percent, to 96.5 billion dollars.
In parallel with the increase in the volume of foreign trade in Turkey, a tendency has been preserved on the growth of calculations in the Turkish lyre. Thus, the volume of exports in the national currency in January amounted to 14 billion 768 million Turkish lires, imports – 30 billion 739 million lire, while the volume of foreign trade increased to 45 billion 507 million lires.
At the same time, export in the Turkish lyrics decreased to 13 billion 840 million lire in February due to earthquakes in Kamhramanmarash, which occurred on February 6th.
The volume of Turkish imports in the national currency during this period amounted to 40 billion 364 million lires, and the volume of foreign trade – 54 billion 204 million lire.
The volume of Turkish exports in February due to the consequences of earthquakes decreased by 6.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year – to $ 18.6 billion.
The restoration of sales volumes in March was also reflected in export in Turkish lies.
So, the export volume in the national currency in the first quarter of the year increased by 87.6 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year – up to 46 billion 678 million Turkish lire. During this period, imports in the national currency amounted to 116 billion 813 million lires.
In the first quarter of the year, the volume of foreign trade in the national currency amounted to 163 billion 491 million Turkish lire, thus increasing by 141.6 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
The number of countries and regions with which calculations were made for supplied products in Turkish lira in March reached 159, and companies – 8460.
