Turkey is invited to an unofficial meeting of foreign ministers of the European Union (EU), which will be held on August 29 in the Belgian capital of Brussels.
spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ondju Kecheli, answering the question of the correspondent of the Anadolu agency about messages from EU sources that Turkey will also take part in the negotiations that will be held on the fields of Gimnich, noted:
“EU sent an invitation to Turkey, and at this stage it is expected that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will visit Brussels to participate in negotiations.”
The spokesman emphasized that this invitation was positively met and regarded as a “search for dialogue by the EU”: “We hope that this step in the coming period will pave the way to change the decisions of the EU Council on Foreign Affairs of July 15, 2019 who have brought our relationship into a dead end.
He added that this positive approach should not be limited to meetings in the Gymnichia.
“To achieve progress in relations, it is necessary that our cooperation and dialogue with the EU in all areas be established on a constant and systematic basis and strengthened on a stable and predictable basis,” said the Turkish diplomat.
