Türkiye makes efforts to resume the Black Sea grain initiative. This was stated on Thursday by sources in the Ministry of National Defense of Turkey.
Sources noted that thanks to the “grain transaction”, which proved its success and benefit, about 33 million tons of grain were shipped to the needy countries.
“Other countries are working on alternative routes and ways. We carefully observe this. The problem is how merchant ships can safely reach Turkish straits in the conditions of this conflict. There are no problems with the passage of ships through Turkish straits,” added Sources.
Earlier, the Minister of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine, Alexander Kubrakov, said that the first vessel that took place in the Black Sea with the port of Odessa.
The head of the Ukrainian department clarified that the Joseph Schulte container line is moving along the route established for civilian courts.
The ship was in the Odessa port from February 23, 2022 and now went out of the port and headed towards the Istanbul Strait with more than 30 thousand tons of cargo on board.
He specified that the Joseph Schulte container line is under the flag of Hong Kong.
