Türkiye plans to bring tourism income to $ 56 billion in 2023

Turkey after the year plans to accept 60 million tourists, and increase revenues from the tourism sector to $ 56 billion. This was said by the Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersa during a visit to the province of Antalya.

According to the minister, Turkey in the first quarter of the year adopted a record number of tourists – 7.8 million, and tourism revenues amounted to $ 8.7 billion.

According to him, the “tourist capital” of the country – Antalya and Turkey as a whole is experiencing one of the best periods of tourism development.

The minister recalled that last year Turkey visited 51.4 million tourists, of which 13 million rested in Antalya. Revenues from the tourism sector in 2022 amounted to $ 46.3 billion.

Ersa said that by 2028, the country’s income was planned to be brought to $ 100 billion to a mark, and the number of tourists is 90 million people. “We want to make Turkey attractive for tourists 12 months a year,” he emphasized.

The head of the Ministry of Culture also said that over the next five years, the number of archaeological excavations in the country will increase. “Last year, excavations were carried out at 700 points of the country, in 157 of which they lasted all year round,” he said.
