Türkiye Resumed Electricity Supply To Iraq

Since July 21, Türkiye, after a three -year break, resumed electricity exports to Iraq. This was stated by the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Alparslan Bayractar.

In the statement of the Ministry of Energy of Turkey, it is noted that in April of this year, Bayractar was accompanied by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during his visit to Iraq, where he discussed the issues of cooperation with his colleagues in Baghdad and Erbil.

It is indicated that 3 months after the visit, the parties “took a new step in the field of energy”.

Iraq will be supplied up to 300 megavatts of electricity through the Jizre-Caskek power line with a voltage of 400 kW located between the two countries.
