Turkey step by step moves to the goal to take a worthy place among the space powers. This was said by the Turkish astronaut of Alper Goseravja recently returned from the ISS at a meeting with students in the province of Konya in the central part of the country.
According to him, this became possible thanks to the active efforts in this direction of the country’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and support the development of the space industry from the state.
The astronaut noted that within the framework of his mission, all planned experiments were performed at the International Space Station.
Goseravja also answered students’ questions about impressions of space flight. “The most risky stage is the phase of entering the atmosphere. In the flight of rockets there is a moment when the aggregate destructive forces affecting the structure reach a maximum. This is the moment of maximum dynamic resistance. This is the most critical moment when the physical conditions on the rocket reach the maximum level as a result combustion, fast movement and various reactions. They often ask me if there is a black hole, whether I saw it. There is a segment from about 3 to 55 kkylometers long. Perhaps this is a “black hole”, since this area is “out of control”. When you enter this zone, the external connection is completely turned off. It is impossible to receive commands, to maintain contact, ”he said.
Goseravji also shared his memories of the process of extracting astronauts of the AX-3 mission from the descent apparatus of the Crew Dragon manned ship to return to Earth. “Usually, two people help the astronaut from the capsule. But when it was my turn to go out, I asked me to be allowed to do it on my own. I managed to do it without problems,” he said.
According to him, the most impressive moment for the astronaut during the flight is the opportunity to observe the earth from space space.
“There are places on our planet that fascinate you when you are watching them from space during the span over them. This is an indescribable moment. I experienced special excitement when I saw the outlines of our country. We flew over Turkey every 2-3 days. This is an unforgettable experience-the opportunity to see your country and its beauty from space, ”said the astronaut.
The launch of the ship using the Falcon 9 launch vehicle was made by SpaceX from the Kennedy space center in the American state of Florida on January 18, at 16:49 in time of the east coast of the United States (January 19, at 00:49 Turkish time).
The Axiom-3 crew (AX-3) included Michael Lopez-Alegria (USA), Wilter Villadey (Italy), Marcus Vandt (Sweden) and Turkish astronaut alperes Goseravja.
The AX-3 mission returned to Earth on February 9.
