Türkiye Was Again Re -elected Member Of Council Of MAMS

Türkiye was again re -elected member of the MAMS council, the executive body of the International Association of Naval Navigation and Lighthouse Services (MAMS).

Turkey was again re-elected as a member of the MAMS council at the 1st meeting of the MAMS General Assembly, which is held in Singapore on February 18-21.

The message notes that Türkiye is one of the founders of the MAMS, and its continuous membership in the council of this organization lasts since 2006.

The role of Turkey in the MAMS are indicators of the meaning that the country gives the safety of marine shipping, as well as development in the sea sphere, follows from the message.

According to information received from diplomatic sources, the MAMS Council of 25 (chairman, his deputy and 23 member countries). Türkiye became one of the members of the MAMS in 1958.

August 22, 2024 MAMS changed its status, becoming an intergovernmental marine organization. MAMS was established in 1957 with the aim of developing cooperation between lighthouse services of various countries, the exchange of information, and the provision of technical and organizational assistance to them.
