Türkiye will continue to decisively maintain efforts to combat Islamic hostility. This is stated in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, dedicated to the International Day of the fight against Islamophobia, which is celebrated on March 15.
The statement reminded that on March 15, 2019, a brutal terrorist act occurred in the New Zealand city of Krastschers, which became one of the worst incidents that claimed the lives of 51 people, including one Turkish citizen. “We respect the victims of the tragedy and pray for their souls,” the report said.
The statement emphasizes that Islamophobia is a threat not only for Muslim communities, but also for the global world and social harmony. It is also indicated that “the ongoing attacks on Islamic values emphasize the need for the intensifying actions of the international community in the fight against Islamophobia.”
