Turkey intends to send Libya’s help to eliminate the consequences of a natural disaster that has claimed the lives of over 1.5 thousand people.
This is stated in the Office for the Prevention and Elimination of the Consequences of Emergencies under the Turkish Government (AFAD) in the social network x.
“Turkey in response to the call of the Libyan government on international assistance will send 150 rescuers, tents and materials for tents, 2 rescue vehicles, 4 boats and generators to the country,” the report said.
As a result of floods in Libya caused by the Daniel cyclone, over 1.5 thousand people died. Cyclone fell to the north-east of Libya on September 10 and brought a storm wind and strong rains with thunderstorms located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea.
The heavy rains caused serious damage to the infrastructure, many residential buildings, hospitals and other civilian facilities are flooded. Operations on evacuation and searching for missing are continuing.
