Türkiye is deeply concerned about the events associated with the military coup in Niger.
“We are deeply concerned about the overthrow of the Democratic elections of President Mohamed Bazum by trying to try a coup, committed by a group from the Armed Forces to Niger, and the suspension of the activities of all democratic structures,” the press service of the Turkish Foreign Ministry said.
The Foreign Ministry expressed hope for preserving the constitutional order, peace and stability in a friendly and fraternal country Niger.
“Turkey will continue to stay close to Niger in such a difficult period for the country,” the statement says.
The military in Niger announced the overthrow from the post of President of the country Mohamed Bazum and the closure of the borders of the republic.
The coup was made by a group of the military, calling itself the National Council of Protection of the Motherland (CNSP).
