Turkmen Gas Will Be Delivered To Turkey

The State Operator of the Turkish pipelines Botaş and the Turkmen company Turkmengaz signed an agreement on the supply of Turkmen gas to Turkey. This is stated in a press release from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey.

Deliveries should begin on March 1, 2025

Commenting on the event on his account on the social network X, the head of the Turkish Ministry of Energy Alparslan Bayrakratt, called the document “historical step” of energy cooperation between Turkey and Turkmenistan.

today we have achieved a specific result in the form of a memorandum of understanding of the development of our cooperation in the field of natural gas, ”he wrote, implying a bilateral agreement of March 2024, which laid the basis for the future cooperation of Ankara and Ashgabat in the field of hydrocarbons. < /p>

The agreement was signed in the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Chairman Hulk Maslahata (People’s Council) of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the fields of the diplomatic forum in Antalya.

“Thanks to this agreement, the work on which we conducted many years, we will strengthen the safety of natural gas supplies to our country and the region, at the same time contributing to the development of strategic cooperation between the two countries,” noted Bayrab.
