Turkmen Young Man Got Rid Of Diapers After 17 Years

The Turkmen young man was able to get rid of diapers after a successful operation

In Izmir, a citizen of Turkmenistan, 17-year-old Mekan Taliev, who from birth suffered from urinary incontinence due to the congenital anomaly of the bladder, was finally able to get rid of the need to constantly use the diapers. Doctors of the University of Aegean successfully conducted a difficult operation that allowed the young man to control urination.

Taliev was born with a rare defect – his bladder was located outside the body. In his homeland, the young man underwent 7 operations, which, however, did not bring the expected result. Ultimately, he turned to the hospital of the University of Aegean on the recommendation of a relative. After a thorough examination, the doctors of the Department of Children’s Surgery, Associate Professors Ali Tekin and Siber Tiriaki, decided to conduct an operation to strengthen the muscles of the bladder.

After 10 hours of surgical intervention, Mekan was able to independently control urination. In an interview with Anadol, the young man noted that he was experiencing many difficulties because of his illness.

“I have experienced many difficulties, but now I can feel freer. To control this process is one of the best sensations, which is difficult to describe with the words” “he said.

Associate Professor Ali Tekin, in turn, noted that the anomaly with which Taliev was born is found in one case at 50 thousand births. He explained that the previously performed operations did not help the patient, but after the new surgical procedure, the young man received a chance for a full life.

His colleague, Associate Professor Sybel Tiriaki, noted that this was a difficult operation requiring thorough preparation. “We strengthened the muscles that prevented the leak, eliminated defects and even created a navel for aesthetic appearance,” she said.

The young man’s mother, aha Gul Beginazova, expressed deep gratitude to the doctors and emphasized that now her son received the long -awaited relief and chance of normal life.
