Turkmenistan and Iran signed a contract for the supply of Turkmen gas to Iraq. This was reported by the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.
“According to the results of the meetings of the Turkmen and Iranian parties, a contract of sale of natural gas was signed in the amount of up to 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year, which will be delivered from Turkmenistan to the Republic of Iraq through the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran according to the SWAP scheme, – – The message says.
The report notes that the Turkmen and Iranian parties are currently actively jointly working on the implementation of the agreements previously reached at the highest state level, on the development of gas cooperation.
“So, to expand the gas transmission infrastructure, Iranian companies will carry out work on the construction of a new gas pipeline in Turkmenistan with a length of 125 kilometers and three gas compressor stations necessary for the supply of additional gas volumes to Iran.
