Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Foreign Minister Rashid Merdov and Secretary General of the Cabinet of Ministers of Japan Yoshimas Hayashi exchanged views on the current state and prospects for the further development of cooperation in priority areas, the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reports.
The meeting of the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan with the General Secretary of the Japanese Cabinet of Ministers took place as part of a working visit to Japan.
The Minister noted the high dynamics of the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan in the political, trade, economic and cultural and humanitarian spheres. At the same time, it is emphasized that the basis of effective relations is a regular political dialogue at high and higher levels.
Along with this, fruitful interaction was stated within the framework of international and regional organizations, including in the format of the Central Asia+Japan dialogue.
The interlocutors also discussed the organization of the first summit of the heads of the state of dialogue “Central Asia+Japan”. In this regard, the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan emphasized that the Turkmen side supports this high -level forum.
The parties focused on the progressive development of trade and economic ties that gain a stable and long-term nature, which is evidenced by a number of implemented joint projects in the energy and gas chemical industries.
The priorities of further interaction in the field of energy, industry, investment, as well as in the fields of culture, science and education.
