The public center of Turkish-Akhysk organized the opening of the building of the Association and Mosque in the city of Phoenix (Arizona, USA).
The Consul General of Turkey in Los Angeles, Sinan Kuzum and the attache, took part in the ceremony on the religious issues of the Consulate General of Turkey in Los Angeles prof. Dr. Ismail Demizen. The organizer was the public center of Turks Akhysk in Phoenix.
The guests were also a representative of the World Union of Turks-Akhysk (Datüb) in the USA Shukhrat Temirov, the head of the Turkish-American Security Fund (TASFO) Fatikha Ozonur, a professor of economics of the Grand Canyon and the President of the Turkish Association of Arizona (TAA-AZ ), Professor Ali Vural Jengiz, President Associations of the Public Center of Turks Akhysk in Phoenix Khalid Muzaffers, General Secretary of the Turkish-American Foundation of Solidarity, Culture and Education (TASCEF) Ertugrul Chyrgyr, representatives of the Ahiysk Turks and the Turkish-American community.
The deportation of the Turks Akhysk in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan was carried out by order of Stalin of November 14, 1944. The descendants of the Turks Akhysk, exported from their homeland, today continue to live in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Russia, Ukraine, the USA and Turkey. According to estimates, their number is about 500 thousand people.
