Mona -year -old Azerbaijanis – brother and sister, placed in an orphanage in Turkey after their parents were killed in Syria, passed to relatives. According to Haqqin.az with reference to the Turkish media, 11-year-old Zeid and 8-year-old Reyan Mammadov have been living in an orphanage for a year and a half. Children reunited with their relatives in Azerbaijan as a result of diplomatic work carried out jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and the Humanitarian Assistance Fund. They were transferred to employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Migration Department.
Children attracted the attention of the fund employees during the distribution of assistance in the Gerabluz area in Syria. Mehmet Altyntash, one of the employees of this organization, said that one of the tasks is to reunite people who were for some reason were separated: “Sometimes we reunite spouses, sometimes brothers, and sometimes children with their parents.”
“These children were placed in our orphanage. We contacted officials in Azerbaijan on this issue. The necessary information was provided for the children and the investigation was started. As a result, we managed to contact the children and mother -in -law of children. The Azerbaijani side turned to Turkey. After the DNA -analysis of children at the last stage, the time is scheduled for relatives, ”Altyntash said.
