UAE refuses to buy US F-35 fighters

UAE informed the United States to suspend the Negotiations for the purchase of F-35, the official representative of the UAE received by RIA Novosti.

“UAE told the United States that they would suspend discussions on the acquisition of F-35. Technical requirements, sovereign operational restrictions, cost and benefit analysis led to the revaluation,” reports.

At the same time, the representative of the UAE indicated that “the United States remains the most preferred supplier of advanced defense technologies for the UAE, and Discussions on the supply of F-35 can be resumed in the future.”

Previously, the Wall Street Journal newspaper, with reference to American officials, reported that the UAE threaten to leave a transaction with the United States to buy F-35 fighters and other weapons due to Washington’s “burdensive” security requirements to protect against spying PRC.
