UK: Iranian Spy Was Sentenced To 14 Years In Prison

Former soldier Daniel Khalifa, arrested in the UK for various offenses, as well as for espionage in favor of Iran and support of persons related to terrorism, sentenced to 14 years and 3 months of prison.

At the hearings held in the Royal Court of Wulvich, the 23-year-old former head of the Caliph was found guilty of the “Law on State Secret” and “The Law on Terrorism”.

Caliph, who escaped from prison in 2023, waiting for a court on charges of supporting people related to terrorism, and espionage in favor of Iran and was caught after 3 days and, by court decision, was sentenced to 14 years and 3 months in prison .

Declaring the verdict Daniel Khalifa, Judge Bobby Chim-Grubb said that the Chalice had potential to become an exemplary soldier when he joined the army, but repeatedly violated his oath.

Caliph did not react to the sentence during the court session.

He was arrested for leakage of official information and contacts with suspects in terrorism

Caliph, who escaped from the HMP Wandsworth prison in London on September 6, 2023, was detained by the police in Chizvik 3 days after the escape.

He first appeared before the judge on January 27, 2023. Caliph was accused of espionage in favor of Iran, the support of terrorist organizations and persons related to terrorism and was fired from military service in connection with the charges against him.

The HMP Wandsworth prison, from where the caliph fled, is known as one of the largest prisons in the country. In the past, it contained only male prisoners, among whom were such famous names as writer Oscar Wilde, founder of WikiLeaks Julian Assange and German tennis player Boris Becker.
