Ukraine And UK Have Entered Into An Agreement On Credit Support For Ukrainian Defense Capabilities

Ministers of Defense of Ukraine and Great Britain Rustem Umarov and John Gili signed an agreement between the governments of the two countries regarding official credit support in the development of Ukrainian defense abilities.

According to the press service of the head of the Ukrainian state, the ceremony of signing the document was held in the presence of President Vladimir Zelensky.

It is noted that the document will begin to start Ukrainian-British projects in this area. This is, in particular, about the supply and repair and partial production of air defense systems, armored vehicles, ammunition.

The agreement provides that British suppliers will be able to conclude loan agreements and contracts with Ukraine for £ 2 billion. This amount is non-actual and can be increased in the future, the press service said in a statement.

“Thanks to this, until 2026, the defense forces of Ukraine, in particular, will be able to provide air defense systems and radar and affected means, get technology and master the partial production of trunks, spare parts and components for artillery installations, western armored vehicles.

Due to the need to quickly develop the capabilities and high cost of defense projects, Ukraine cannot now finance them from its state budget, ”it emphasizes in it.

The loan repayment period is 15 years.
