Partners and allies of the United States should fulfill their promises to support Ukraine as soon as possible, as Russia continues to attack. Washington will soon highlight the promised help, said US Minister of Finance Janet Yellen at a meeting with his Ukrainian colleague Sergei Marchenko, writes Voice of America.
“Once again, the world saw the true nature of the barbaric and illegal war unleashed by Russia. The United States continues to strongly support Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. We will continue to support you in restoring prosperous and free Ukraine,” she said.
Washington to allocate a budget support of $ 4.5 billion to Kyiv. At the same time, the direct budget support of Ukraine from the United States amounted to $ 13.5 billion in the form of gratuitous assistance. “We strive to provide you with this funding as soon as possible,” the minister said.
Janet Yellen noted that American and Ukrainian officials are very disappointed with how the European Union countries fulfill their promises to support Kyiv. According to her, out of $ 9 billion, only $ 1 billion has been allocated so far.
