US authorities can allow the third countries to transfer to Ukraine the fighter F-16s of American production, writes The New York Times.
It is unlikely that Washington will send his own aircraft, notes a senior Politico source in the Pentagon. Most likely, Ukraine will receive F-16 fighters from Denmark or the Netherlands, the unnamed interlocutors of The New York Times among European and American officials.
According to them, in particular, there are about 40 F-16 aircraft at the disposal of the Netherlands. Denmark switches to more modern F-35 fighters and made it clear that she was ready to transfer F-16 to Ukraine.
“There are other countries that talk about this. As soon as they make a proposal, I think we will negotiate,” the interlocutor of the US Ministry of Defense curled up. He noted that in the Pentagon they do not mind the supply of aircraft, but “continue to prioritize.”
