Ukraine complained about Israeli’s weak help

The Ukrainian ambassador Yevgeny Korniychuk once again accused Israel of insufficient, in his opinion, help to Kyiv. At a press conference held on June 7 in Jerusalem, he complained that only 10% of the promised helmets and body armor were delivered at the destination, and Ukrainian soldiers who lost limbs did not receive an invitation to Israel to select prostheses.

“While Russia is killing our citizens, the Israeli government prefers to stay in a comfortable zone and refrains from providing Ukraine with minimal defense assistance,” said Korniychuk.

The ambassador made it clear that it was the Israeli government that refrains from assistance to Ukraine. “It is important for me to thank the Israelis, as well as Israeli organizations and companies that help Ukraine from the first day of the war. The Israeli government should weigh the moral aspect and finally decide whether it joins the justice camp, as other democracies of the world have done,” he added.

“From the people of Israel, we feel sincere love and sympathy. The Israeli government expresses empathy only in words – and this is a big difference,” the ambassador said.

At the same time, Evgeny Korniychuk again asked Israel to transfer complexes about the Iron Dome, although earlier in Jerusalem they repeatedly explained why such deliveries were impossible. “In the same way as Israel protects residents of the districts border from the gas from Hamas missiles, we are obliged to protect our citizens from Russian shelling,” the ambassador said.
