Ukraine excludes possibility of a truce with Russia before withdrawal of troops

A truce is possible only after the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine, while Kyiv will not agree to give in to Moscow any territories, said the adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mikhail Podolyak in an interview with Reuters.

admitting that the position of Kyiv is becoming more uncompromising, Podolyak explained that such concessions will have severe consequences for Ukraine, because in the end Russia will be able to take advantage of the break in hostilities to prepare and strike again.

” The war will not stop [after the concessions of Russia]. It will simply pause for a while, “the Russian BBC Service quotes.

” After some time, the Russian military will build up their weapons, manpower, work out their mistakes, conduct a small modernization, fire many generals … and they will begin a new offensive, even more bloody and large -scale, “said Podolyak.

The representative of the Office of the President of Ukraine called the calls for the urgent ceasefire that have been in the West recently. “[Russian] Armed Forces should leave the country, and after that it will be possible to resume the peace process,” said Podolyak.
