According to the National Police, the Economic Security Bureau and the office of the Prosecutor General, the court arrested the corporate rights of Karpatneftekhim LLC.
The company was created in 2004 on the basis of the capacities of the Kalushsky enterprise “Oriana”. The plant specializes in the production of chlorine, caustic soda, vinyl chloride, ethylene, polyethylene and propylene. The owner of Karpatneftekhim used to be Russian Lukoil, now – the Dutch Karpaty Chemical, whose beneficiaries Ilham Mammadov and Igor Schutsky bought a plant from Lukoil after he fell under sanctions.
Last summer, the head of Lukoil Vagit Alekperov estimated the cost of Karpatneftekhim at $ 100-300 million
According to Ukrainian departments, in 2017-2022 the company evaded taxes in the amount of more than 3 billion hryvnias (over $ 81 million).
“The enterprise also illegally transferred more than 5 billion hryvnias (135 million dollars) to the legal entity controlled by the Russian oil company for their legalization. At the request of the prosecutors of the Prosecutor General, the enterprise’s corporate rights, which is one of the largest manufacturers of organic chemicals In Ukraine, for a total of more than 2.3 billion UAH ($ 62 million), as well as 35 real estate objects of this enterprise, ”the press service of the Economic Security Bureau said.
Recall that Ilham Mammadov headed Lukoil-Ukraine in 2014. He replaced Andrei Gavrilz in this post, who previously worked as the general director of Lukoil-Belarus.
