The total volume of military assistance to Kyiv from Western countries since the beginning of the war in February 2022 amounted to 41 billion euros. This was stated by the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN Sergey Kislitsa in his Twitter account with reference to the data of the Institute of World Economy of the University.
Western assistance is 7.6 times more than the entire military budget of Ukraine for 2022. At the same time, the diplomat emphasized that this is 14% less than the Russian military budget.
According to the institute, Latvia remains the leader in assisting Kyiv. She allocated about 41% of the military expenses of Ukraine. The first ten also has Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Luxembourg, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Great Britain and Norway.
The United States remains the leader in volume of assistance, they allocated to Kyiv to help 52 billion euros in various fields (military, humanitarian, financial – ed.). In second place is the European Union, which allocated different assistance for 29 billion euros.
