President of Poland Andrzej Duda announced that the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky introduced a bill on the special rights of Polish citizens in Ukraine, BBC reports.
According to the report, in May of this year, Vladimir Zelensky, during a visit to Ukraine, Andrzej Duda promised that Polish citizens will receive the same rights in Ukraine that Ukrainian refugees in Poland received. Poland allowed them to live freely, work and receive benefits.
Duda announced this, speaking on Monday at the ceremony of commemoration of the victims of the Volyn Republic – the extermination of the Poles by Ukrainian nationalists in Volyn and Eastern Galicia, the western regions of present -day Ukraine, during the Second World War.
“Today you can see the situation opposite to the one when they tried to get rid of at all costs, including taking their lives from them. Today, Ukraine gives a symbolic invitation by this step, saying:” You are on special rights. Welcome, ”TASS quoted Duda.
