Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umarov discussed with the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken issues of supplying air defense systems to Ukraine and the upcoming NATO Washington Summit. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in Telegram.
“During a working trip to Washington, together with the head of the president’s office Andrei Ermak, Deputy Prime Minister of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olga Stefanishina and Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko met with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. They discussed important issues, in particular, in particular The air defense systems.
The minister also said that during the meeting they talked about the upcoming NATO Washington Summit.
“This is an important event that will determine further steps in our Euro -Atlantic integration and ensuring the safety of Ukraine,” the minister emphasized, adding that he is grateful to Anthony Biginen for support and constructive dialogue.
Meanwhile, the press service of the Office of the President of Ukraine reported that the head of OP Andrei Ermak, together with the Deputy Prime Minister of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olga Stepanishina, defense Minister Rustem Umarov and Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko made a visit to the United States to meet with Secretary of State Blinken.
Ermak thanked the United States for the constant support of Ukraine.
“Your help with weapons and ammunition will strengthen our fighters on the battlefield and will help our state fight against Russian aggression,” said Andrei Ermak.
“During the meeting, the results of the inauguration summit of the world were discussed in detail, specific steps to implement the points of the world formula in the coming weeks and months and joint work to establish a fair world in Ukraine,” the message said.
Separate attention was paid to preparation for the NATO summit, which will take place next week in Washington, in particular, the documents that will be concluded.
Olga Stefanishina noted the expectations of Ukraine from the NATO summit. During the meeting, they discussed the promotion of Ukraine on the path of Euro -Atlantic integration and guaranteed financial assistance to strengthen the defense capability of Ukraine at the alliance level.
Rustem Umarov informed in detail about the need to ensure Ukrainian forces with additional air defense systems to protect cities and communities, as well as critical infrastructure facilities.
German Galushchenko spoke about the consequences of attacks on the objects of the energy infrastructure of Ukraine. Those present discussed the state of the energy system and joint solutions with the partner states that will help protect energy facilities before the start of the heating season.
