Mongolia intends to further strengthen bilateral relations with the UN and contribute to the solution of global challenges.
About this, the Foreign Minister of Mongolia Batmunhiin Batzesg announced in a telephone conversation with the UN Secretary General Antoniu Guterrysh on February 3, 2025.
According to Montsame, during the conversation the parties discussed preparations for the 17th session of the conference of the parties to the UN Framular Convention to Combat desertification (COP17), which will be held in Ulan-Bator in 2026, as well as other issues of cooperation between Mongolia and the UN .
Batzeseg recalled that in 2025 the UN will celebrate its 80th anniversary and emphasized the intention of Ulan-Bator and further strengthen bilateral relations with the UN and contribute to the solution of global challenges.
The Foreign Minister also emphasized that the government of Mongolia attaches great importance to preparations for COP17 in Ulan Bator, and expressed confidence that the UN Secretary General would take part in this important event.
GUTERRASH, in turn, wished success in preparing for the 17th session of the conference of the UN Convention to Combat desertification and asked to convey his congratulations to the President of Mongolia Ukhnaigi Huralsukh on the occasion of the coming new year of the snake.
