King of Jordan Abdullah II said that his country “regularly encounters attacks near its borders from the militias associated with Iran,” and urged the official Tehran to “change behavior.”
In an interview with the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Ray, King Abdalla said that Iran’s intervention in the region “affected good neighborly relations with Arab countries.”
Criticism sounded in response to the question of clashes between drug and weapons and weapons based in Syria and Jordanian armed forces. It is known that some of these groups provide financial support to Hzballe, the key ally of Tehran in Syria.
Collisions with Jordanian border guards took place regularly. In January of this year, the militias killed at least one officer and a border guard. In response, the Jordanian military in the same month eliminated about 27 alleged drug merchants and members of armed groups.
The Hashemitsky monarch said that the smuggling of drugs and weapons poses a “threat to Jordan and other Arab countries”, adding that a change in the foreign policy position of Iran should occur in the field.
We recall that in May of this year, King Abdullah II, speaking at the American analytical center of the Goover Institute, said that Tehran’s interventionism is concerned in the region. According to him, in addition to the support of Bashar al -Assad and Hezballa, the support of Tehran Khusitov in Yemen also created instability and anxiety in the Persian Gulf.
