The statement was made at a meeting of the UN Security Council initiated by the Russian Federation and Ecuador “in connection with the blows of the Russian Federation for the civilian population and civil infrastructure” Ukraine.
According to her, about 10 million people in Ukraine were forcibly moved.
The UN representative expressed deep concern about the spread of hostilities to new territories.
The UN Deputy General Secretary said that 130 thousand people were forced to leave their homes as a result of hostilities in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. She noted that there are also attacks on the civilian population and civil infrastructure.
“All parties should protect the civilian population and civil infrastructure in accordance with international humanitarian law,” she said.
Joyce Msuya called on the leaders of the countries of the World Organization to use all the existing opportunities to put an end to the conflict.
