UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet will begin an official mission to Peru on Monday, 18 July, during which she will hold discussions on the country’s human rights challenges and opportunities.
The High Commissioner is due to meet, among others, senior officials from the executive, legislative and judicial branches; civil society and indigenous peoples’ representatives; human rights defenders; the private sector; and members of the international community.
The High Commissioner will hold a news conference in Lima at the end of her mission on Wednesday 20 July at 10.30 local time. Access to the news conference will be strictly limited to accredited media.
