Acute lack of food will deteriorate in the coming months in another 20 countries – the so -called “hot spots of hunger,” the UN said. This was reported by Euraactiv with reference to the report of the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations. It is noted that the current situation with food is already worse than during the events of the Arab spring of 2011.
According to the report, the food crisis is caused by a combination of climatic shocks, the pandemia of the Covid-19 and the current conflict in Ukraine. All this led to a sharp increase in food prices and fuel around the world, noted at the UN.
Among the most exposed crisis of countries, they distinguish: Ethiopia, Nigeria, South Sudan, Afghanistan, Somalia, Kenya and Yemen.
