At the moment, the UN has already registered and confirmed by namely 5939 victims among the civilians, including 2787 dead and 3152 wounded in Ukraine, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet said, the Russian BBC service reports.
“Real numbers are much higher, and my office is working to establish them,” the Bachelet noted, adding that most of these people were victims of the use of weapons of mass destruction in densely populated areas, whether it be artillery shelling, missile or bombing Blows.
According to her, the victims and their relatives must receive compensation for the harm done and the tragedy they experienced.
In turn, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Irina Venediktova reported on the video that she started more than 8 thousand cases of violations of the rules of warfare.
Prosecutor Mus Karim Khan, in turn, noted that 43 countries – a record number – submitted applications for violations of the laws of warfare in Ukraine.
