UN: Large -scale Floods In South Sudan Left Almost Half Million People Without Bed

According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (VSGV), large -scale floods in South Sudan were affected by about 1.4 million people. The natural disaster forced more than 379 thousand people to leave their homes.

As reported in the UKGV statement, the current floods are one of the most destructive in recent years. Due to the flooded roads, humanitarian workers are experiencing serious difficulties with the delivery of assistance to the victims.

“The situation is aggravated by a flash of malaria, which provides an additional load on the already weak healthcare system in the affected areas,” the report said.

It is noted that the floods led to the destruction of infrastructure and agricultural land, which further exacerbates the humanitarian crisis in the country.
