UN: mass vaccination will restore tourism

High level of vaccination of the population and the wider introduction of digital technologies will lead to an increase in international tourism. According to the TASS, it is reported on the website of the World Tourism Organization (WTOON).

“These areas where the level of vaccination is higher and where governments are capable of working together over coordinated rules, have more opportunities for the resumption of tourism, the UNDPL.

The organization also notes that regional differences in travel restrictions are preserved. 70% of all directions in the Asia-Pacific region are fully closed, compared to only 13% in Europe, 20% in North and South America, 19% in Africa and 31% in the Middle East. In most cases, travel restrictions continue to act with respect to fully vaccinated passengers (received two doses of the approved vaccine). It is expected that in the coming weeks the situation will change significantly. “Governments play an important role in resuming and restoring tourism through cooperation, the use of data and digital technologies” – the organization of the word of its Secretary-General Zurab Policashvili is provided.
