Almost two million people in Ukraine received monetary assistance from the UN humanitarian structures in the first quarter of 2023. These are primarily internally displaced faces, as well as people who have lost their jobs because of the war. In 2022, six million people received monetary assistance from the UN.
This was announced at a briefing in New York by the UN press secretary Stefan Duzharrik, the press service of the organization reports.
for the provision of monetary support to the Ukrainians to the affected people as a result of hostilities, according to him, was allocated $ 200 million.
“This became possible thanks to coordinated efforts of more than 20 partners, including UN agencies, national non -governmental organizations, as well as international non -governmental organizations,” the press secretary said.
He explained that the work to provide monetary assistance to the population of Ukraine will continue. In total, it is planned to provide cash with 4.4 million people in Ukraine, they will be transferred about a billion US dollars.
In general, humanitarian aid (not only monetary) from the UN today receives about 11 million people in Ukraine. The organization requested 3.9 billion dollars for these purposes.
