The Supreme Commissioner of the United Nations (UN) for refugees Filippo Grandi said that the expansion of the conflict zone in the Middle East is a “catastrophe”.
In a statement published on the social media platform X, Grandi noted: “The expansion of conflicts in the Middle East is a disaster in all respects.”
From a humanitarian point of view, this means an increase in the number of dead, wounded and displaced civilians, ”Grandi added, emphasizing that reducing the volume of assistance also means a decrease in supporting the need for those in need of the region and all over the world.
