The United Nations (VPP) of the UN allocated $ 2.5 billion to combat hunger and malnutrition in Nigeria, the most densely populated country in Africa.
Speaking during an event in Abuj, the representative of the runway in Nigeria Serien Lum said that the strategic purpose of the runway is to eliminate hunger around the world in accordance with the goals of sustainable development.
“The budget includes specific measures to strengthen the existing potential and create a favorable environment in accordance with national goals,” he said.
The UN representative indicated that the project covers such vital activities as reaction to emergency situations and the provision of immediate food assistance to those in need, as well as measures aimed at eliminating hunger and malnutrition.
According to Lum, one of the largest social protection programs in Africa operates in Nigeria. Ambitious programs are being implemented in the country, aimed at bringing hundreds of millions of people from poverty, he added.
