UN Secretary General Antoniu Guterrish and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a bilateral meeting on the fields of the BRICS summit in Kazan.
According to the press service of the World Organization, during the meeting, Gutherrish again expressed his position on the issue of Ukraine, noting that the occupation of Ukraine violates the UN Charter and international law.
The report said that Gutherrish noted the critical importance of freedom of shipping in the Black Sea.
“The General Secretary fully supports the continuation of negotiations on this issue and expresses the deep gratitude of Turkey,” the report said.
The parties also discussed the situation in the Middle East, paying attention to the need to achieve a ceasefire in gas and Lebanon and prevent further growth of tension and the region.
