UN Secretary General Antoniu Guterres expressed disappointment due to the fact that his proposals were rejected on the Black Sea initiative, but promised to continue efforts to enter the world markets from Russia and Ukraine.
“I am deeply disappointed that my offers have not accepted. But this will not stop our efforts to facilitate access to world markets for food products and fertilizers of Russia and Ukraine,” he said.
According to him, he knows about the preservation of “some obstacles” for Russian products and fertilizers, but at the same time, many of them have already eliminated.
Moscow on July 17 sent Ankara, Kyiv and the UN of its objections regarding the extension of the “grain transaction”. The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that from July 18 the transaction will stop, but the Russian side will be ready to resume it as soon as the Russian part of the transaction is completed.
“I want to pay attention to the efforts of the Turkish government”
“In this context, I would like to pay special attention to the efforts of the Turkish government,” said Guterrish.
He noted that the main goal is to ensure global food security and stability of food prices.
