UN Secretary General Gutherrish condemned attacks on UN staff in Gaza

The Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) Antoniu Guterrish condemned the attacks on the UN staff and demanded a comprehensive investigation.

The UN press secretary management made a written statement.

The statement notes that Gutherrish regretfully learned about the death of one UN security officer and the wound of another as a result of an attack on the UN car, who was going to the European Hospital in the city of Rafach in the south of the Gas sector, and expressed his condolences to the relatives of the dead employees.

The head of the UN condemned the attack on the UN staff and called for a thorough investigation.

noting that the situation in Gaza affects not only the civilian population, but also the employees of humanitarian organizations, the Secretary General again demanded an immediate termination of humanitarian fire and the release of all prisoners.

The Deputy Spokesman of the UN Farhan Khak said at a daily press conference that they continue to receive information about the incident. According to him, from October 7, 2023, 196 UN employees were killed in Gaza.

Khak said that the UN continues to keep in touch with the authorities in order to hold the perpetrators accountable after the end of the conflict.
