South Sudan remains one of the most dangerous places for humanitarian workers.
About this, the coordinator of humanitarian aid in South Sudan Anita Kiki Kiki Gbeho announced on the occasion of World Humanitarian Assistance.
According to her, since the beginning of the year, 24 attacks on humanitarian organizations have occurred in the country. “Without a safe place for humanitors, we risk not reaching millions of people who need it,” she said.
According to her, South Sudan is on the verge of serious floods and thousands of people returned to their country from Sudan.
A “storm” is approaching South Sudan from a humanitarian and economic point of view, she emphasized. According to the UN for 2024, 9 million inhabitants of Southern Sudan need humanitarian assistance.
