Unemployment Rate In Turkey In September Was Preserved At 8.6%

The number of unemployed in Turkey at the age of 15 and older increased in September by 35 thousand people compared to the previous month and reached 3.1 million people. The unemployment rate remained at the level of 8.6%.

According to the statistical Institute of Turkey, compared to the same period last year, the unemployment rate decreased by 0.5 percentage points.

The unemployment rate among men is estimated at 6.7%, and among women – at 12.3%.

In the age group of 15-24 years, the unemployment rate increased by 0.3 percentage points compared to the previous month and amounted to 17.1%. Among young people in this age group, the unemployment rate among men is 13.5%, and among women – 24%.

Employment level increased by 0.1 percentage points and reached 49.7%.

The number of employees in Turkey in September increased by 95 thousand people compared to the previous month and reached 32,823,000 people.

Correctly on seasonal factors, the number of employees increased by 95 thousand people and reached 32,823,000 people. The level of employment increased by 0.1 percentage points and amounted to 49.7%. Among men, this indicator was 67.3%, and among women – 32.5%.

Correctly on seasonal factors, the number of labor increased by 131 thousand people and reached 35,923,000 people. The level of economic activity increased by 0.2 percentage points and amounted to 54.4%. The level of economic activity among men was 72.1%, and among women – 37%.

The average actual duration of the working week for employees, adjusted taking into account seasonal and calendar factors, remained at 42.7 hours in September.

The level of unemployment and partial employment, which includes potential labor and unemployed, has decreased by 1.7 percentage points compared to the previous month and amounted to 25.6%. The combined level of partial employment and unemployment was 17.3%, and the total level of unemployment and potential labor – 17.9%.
