A senior representative of the American administration said that the United States is not against blows to Crimea if Kyiv considers them necessary. The official explained this by the fact that the weapons set by Washington are intended for defense, and any goal that Kyiv pursues on its land is defense. The representative of the administration, whose name is not called, told Politico.
“Of course, we do not choose the goal, and everything that we have provided is intended for self-defense purposes. Any goal that they decide to pursue on sovereign Ukrainian land is by definition of self-defense,” the official said. When asked about the belonging of Crimea, he stated that the peninsula is part of Ukraine. The Ukrainian official, whose name is not called, said to Politico that the message of support came to Kyiv.
