The United States considers China as the main geopolitical challenge, and in relation to Russia they take a course to restrain Moscow. This was stated by US Presidential Assistant Jake Sullivan, according to the White House website.
At a briefing, the presidential assistant spoke about the new US security strategy.
“We recognize that the PRC is geopolitically the most significant geopolitical challenge for America. And although it will be largely concerned about the Indo -Pacific region, this call has a global dimension,” he said.
Jake Sullivan specified that Washington does not want a strict division of the world into blocks, Cold War or open confrontation.
The new version of the US National Security Strategy is scheduled for 48 pages. It indicates priority directions of domestic and foreign policy of the US administration, as well as the main threats for the country.
Washington sets a course to compete with Beijing and the deterrence of Moscow. “The PRC and Russia are more and more related to each other, however, the challenges that they represent are important in important. We will make a priority to preserve a strong competitive advantage over the PRC, while limiting still fundamental dangerous Russia,” says the assistant to the US president.
