In the north-east of Syria, the leader of the IS militants group was destroyed. This was reported the day before by the central command of the United States.
According to the report, as a result of a helicopter raid committed on Thursday, February 16, a senior leader of the Islamic State Hamza al-HymSi was killed, who led militants in the east of Syria. During the operation, four American troops and service dog were injured. Their condition is evaluated as stable.
The representative of the Central Command of the United States, Colonel Joe Bakkino, said that the operation was carried out together with Kurdish formations.
He also announced another operation, as a result of which another IS commander was destroyed, who led a group of terrorists who committed political killings. Barkkino did not provide additional information.
