United States is ready to contribute to long -term restoration efforts after earthquakes in Turkey

The United States said that they are ready to “contribute to the long -term efforts of Turkish partners to restore” after an earthquake in Kamhramanmarash on February 6.

The US Constant Representative at the United Nations (UN) Linda Thomas-Grinfield made a written statement on the occasion of the anniversary of the earthquakes in Kazhramanmarash.

Greenfield recalled that after earthquakes she visited Hatay and met with representatives of humanitarian organizations to help Syria.

noting that after the US earthquakes provided humanitarian aid in the amount of about $ 242 million, Greenfield emphasized that the situation in Syria remains serious.

“We are ready to contribute to the long -term efforts of our Turkish partners to restore and continue to work with those who have suffered from earthquakes in Syria,” Greenfield noted.

Calling an increase in Syria’s assistance, the United States Permanent Representative in the UN added that they are ready to provide Turkey support for new projects with additional financing of $ 1 million.
